Glass and optical components

Glasses have a range of applications due to their optical, mechanical and thermal properties. By tailoring the chemical composition (for example doping with foreign atoms) or by applying metallic layers, these properties can be flexibly adapted to the respective application. In the development, as well as in failure analysis, the use of chemically or topographically sensitive analysis methods plays an important role. Possible applications are:
